What I’m doing now
Last updated: June 1, 2026
This is a snapshot of what I’m focused on right now. I update this periodically to reflect my evolving interests and priorities. Inspired by nownownow.com.
Active projects
Editorial analytics SCMP — Building editorial analytics into a usable newsroom function — recommendations executed, measured, and fed back on a standing cadence, with a path to scale across the newsroom.
bootstrap/recursion (newsletter) — Restarting after a deliberate fallow stretch. An active draft moving on a weekly checkpoint rather than a fixed publishing cadence, automating the social side first. Inner-work writing — philosophy, agency, self-awareness.
Multi-agent system / skills work — Running a working multi-agent setup — Claude Code, Hermes (Discord/VPS ops agent), and OpenCode (data analysis on Mac) — sharing a single Obsidian vault as memory. Designing skills, write policies, and routing patterns that hold across all three.
What I’m learning
Agentic AI systems — How LLM-based agents handle real workflows, not just answer questions. Keeping a paper bullet journal alongside the agents — the friction forces me to slow down, and you can’t cheat thinking.
Personal systems design — The intersection of GTD, PKM, and habit design. How information architecture shapes thinking.
Confucian ethics — Studying the Analects passage by passage as a daily practice, now structured around weekly conduct focuses. Less scholarship, more what the texts demand of conduct in the moment.
I Ching — Using it daily as a reflective tool — prescriptive (right conduct), not predictive. The 64 hexagrams as a structured way to interrogate the day before it begins.
